Employee Motivation Index – MI

  • A team’s overall motivation levels should be measured at least once a year by asking each team member to rate each of the following factors

  • The motivation index is calculated by averaging the ratings that each member of the team gives to each factor – 0 is very poor, 10 is very good

  • You can assume your team’s motivation level is high for an index value of 80 plus, and low if below 60

  • N.B. Once such surveys are completed, employees as well as managers will be keen to know the results – and will expect appropriate action to follow
